KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH
ORDINANCE 2003-19-16

(MAYOR) SUBSTITUTE

AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A GRANT OF $38,850 FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA FOR THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH COASTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough Coastal Management Program provides coordinated planning and permitting within the coastal district boundary of the borough; and

WHEREAS, the Alaska Department of Community and Economic Development has approved the borough's request for Section 306 funding under the Alaska Coastal Management Program; and

WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough has been awarded $38,850 for use in administration and implementation of the Coastal Management Program; and

WHEREAS, the coastal management grant requires a local match of $19,425; and

WHEREAS, sufficient funds are included in the approved FY2004 budget to meet the grant's local match requirement of $19,425;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH:

SECTION 1. That the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly hereby accepts a grant of $38,850 from the State of Alaska to fund the Kenai Peninsula Borough Coastal Management Program.

SECTION 2. That the sum of $38,850 is hereby appropriated to the following accounts in these respective amounts:

SECTION 3. That these funds shall be utilized to carry out the required tasks of the grant.

SECTION 4. That the mayor is authorized to sign any documents necessary to effectuate the intents and purposes of this ordinance.

SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
