THRU: Dale L. Bagley, Mayor
THRU: Max Best, Planning Director
FROM: Paul Ostrander, Land Management Officer
DATE: March 20, 2003
SUBJECT: ORDINANCE 2003-13 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF TRACT D, WES WARREN SUBDIVISION RANCH ADDITION, PLAT NO. 97-48, KENAI RECORDING DISTRICT FOR A FIRE STATION SITE IN THE HOLT-LAMPLIGHT AREA
The Nikiski Fire Service Area Board of Directors has determined the need for construction of a new fire station in the Holt-Lamplight area. The proposed site meets criteria for cost, site development and response time. Area demographics warrant construction of a new station in the near future. Securing a site that meets selection criteria at this time to insure availability when it is needed is in the community's best interest. Please reference the attached memorandum from Fire Chief Daniel Gregory dated March 1, 2003 for additional information on site selection.
The owners have signed an Earnest Money Receipt and Purchase Agreement to subject
Tract D for $35,000. The Nikiski Fire Service Area is funding this acquisition.
