In November, the assembly committee meeting process was revised in an attempt to make the process better for the public, staff, and the assembly. As was stated in a memo to all assembly members at that time, one result of the change was that committee chairs may give slightly longer reports at the general meeting. Currently, Committee Reports are given after Approval of the Agenda and Consent Agenda. I believe that it would be better to place Committee Reports earlier in the agenda in order that more information be available to all before items are considered for approval or removal from the consent agenda.
