SUBJECT: Ordinance No. 2002-19-10: Accepting and Appropriating a Grant from the Alaska Manufacturers' Association in the Amount of $112,000 for the Cook Inlet Sockeye Salmon Quality Management Program

On March 12, 2002, the Assembly enacted Ordinance 2001-19-32 which appropriated $305,550 from the general fund balance to the Cook Inlet Sockeye Branding Project. That ordinance states that any grant funds received for this project would be used to offset Borough funds.

On July 15, 2002, an agreement was received from the Alaska Manufacturers' Association ("AKMA"), signed by their President. A copy of the agreement is attached. The agreement is for providing funding to the Borough in the amount of $112,000 for its Cook Inlet sockeye quality management program. The attached ordinance accepts the AKMA funding, appropriates the funds to the Cook Inlet Branding Project, and reduces the amount of Borough general funds provided for the project.
