SUBJECT: Ordinance 2001-19-39, An Ordinance Authorizing the Acquisition of Lot H-1, Binkley Street/Shady Lane R/W Dedication and Replat, According to Plat No. 88-40, Kenai Recording District for an Addition to the Soldotna Elementary School Facility and Appropriating $49,335.00 from the Land Trust Fund to Acquire the Property

Lot H-1 is contiguous to the Soldotna Elementary School site and is located on the corner of Binkley Street and Corral Street. The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District supports the acquisition of Lot H-1 as an addition to the Soldotna Elementary School site.

The owner, Virgil J. Nordgulen, has signed a Purchase Agreement to sell Lot H-1 for the current assessed value of $48,500.

The Planning Commission recommended enactment of the ordinance by unanimous consent during their regularly scheduled March 25, 2002 meeting.

Funds will be appropriated from the Land Trust Fund for this acquisition to include closing costs and prorated 2002 taxes.
