Re: Ordinance to accept a $26,000.00 grant from the Alaska Division of Emergency Services to fund activities of the Local Emergency Planning Committee

The Alaska Division of Emergency Services (ADES) provides an annual grant to each Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) to fund a variety of activities identified in the annual application for funds. Each LEPC receives a base allocation, which in the case of the KPB is $20,000.00 for FY 02, with additional funding for specific projects or activities. This additional funding in FY 02 was $6,000.00, for a total grant award of $26,000.00. It is intended that the functions will be performed by an existing temporary employee who is familiar with the LEPC projects.

Shortened hearing is requested to ensure funds are available to employ this person without interruption thereby ensuring her availability for the project.
