Supplemental Appropriation and Redirection School Capital Maintenance ProjectsThe attached Ordinance 99-09 appropriates $1,961,406 from the fund balance of the
borough General Fund to the School Capital Projects Fund. Of the total proposed, $23,562
represents the reappropriation of lapsed funds from previously approved projects completed
under budget. The remaining $1,937,844 comes from the borough's undesignated General Fund
balance. In addition, Ordinance 99-09 redirects unexpended funds from several completed
bond funded projects at Ninilchik School to a new HVAC project at the same location.
If approved, the ordinance will provide current year funding for some of the borough's
highest priority school capital maintenance projects. It is anticipated that the projects
can all be completed during the 1999 construction season. The projects were listed in an
attachment to an earlier memorandum from the administration dated January 5, 1999. The
projects and their relative priority were discussed in detail during an assembly work
session on January 19, 1999.
