Ordinance 99-01 and 99-02 amendmentsPlease find following amendments to Ordinances 99-01 and 99-02 revising the definition
of bed and breakfast. The definition in the proposed amendment conforms to the definition
in DEC regulations and is proposed at the request of bed and breakfast operators.
Revise proposed KPB 21.30.030(9)(f) as follows:
f. bed and breakfasts [with not more than four guests, nightly];
Revise KPB 21.79.010 as follows:
For the purpose of this [chapter] title, the following definitions shall apply
unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning. Terms that are not
defined shall have the meaning ordinarily given the terms in the English language.
"Bed and breakfast" means [the commercial use of a maximum of three guest rooms in a dwelling, or part of a dwelling, where lodging and one meal is provided by the owner or operator on a daily basis] a business located in an owner- or host-occupied, one-family dwelling in which up to five guestrooms are provided for compensation as overnight accommodations for transient guests to whom a continental or cook-and-serve breakfast is customarily served and included in the charge for the room.
